Engineering Manager - Observability at Yelp (London, UK)

As an Engineering Manager on Yelp’s Observability team, you will lead, coach, and grow a team of amazing engineers in building and maintaining Yelp’s observability platform and tooling. This team provides feature teams with the frontend (web and mobile) tooling to observe their users’ experience and the health of their product.

Where You Come In:

• Help the team stay happy and productive by removing obstacles and optimizing team processes.


• Coach and mentor engineers of all experience levels, from recent graduates to senior engineers.


• Collaborate with your team, stakeholders, and other Engineering leaders to define and influence a product vision and roadmap


• Play an essential role in the hiring process, from scouting and interviewing potential candidates to helping close new hires

What it Takes to Succeed:

• Previous experience as a manager with a “people-first” approach;


• Maintaining a healthy team culture is your priority, and you lead through empathy


• Great communication skills and the know-how to impart those same skills to your team


• Experience using cloud computing services (AWS, Microsoft Azure, etc.)


• A technical background that allows you to help your team evaluate trade-offs during design and development
