Senior Data Engineer at Forto GmbH (Berlin, Germany)

As a Senior Data Engineer at Forto, You will:

• Decide, build, monitor, and maintain our cloud-based data infrastructure surrounding DataLake/Data Mesh Architecture.


• Collaborate in a cross-functional team of Software Engineers, Data Scientists, and Product Managers to deliver Data Products for our customers.


• Help our teams to develop, implement, and maintain reliable, sustainable, high-performance data ingestion and data-processing systems.


• Support us to be an innovative company in logistics by building world-class data systems

What you bring:

• 4+ years experience in data engineering, Big Data experience is a plus


• Solid work experience with SQL and Databases


• Experience in any of the programming languages like Java, Scala, or Python (preferable) and the passion to write clean code


• Experience building ETL/ELT with batch and real-time pipelines on core principles of good data quality


• Experience with any one of the cloud infrastructures like GCP (preferable) / AWS / Azure


• Ideally, you have experience working with BigQuery or Redshift, Airflow or DataProc or Matillion, and real-time analytics using Apache Spark. Further technology in our stack includes: Kubernetes, Cloud Functions, Data Studio


• Experience designing, developing, and deploying microservices or serverless applications with quality code with unit testing to production following CI/CD frameworks including CircleCI, Github.
