Engineering Manager (f/m/d) - Site Reliability at Forto GmbH (Berlin, Germany)

Your role:

As part of the SRE team here at forto, you will join us in enabling our development teams to make shipping code as easy as merging a pull request. We apply the SRE principles of GitOps, cloud-native first and “you write it, you run it”. Utilizing best-in-class solutions such as Google Kubernetes Engine, AWS services (terraformed of course) and Datadog, we love to make our engineer’s lives better, so they can build, run, monitor and in general own the software they write.

You will:

• Lead a motivated and skilled SRE team


• Hire and grow talent within the organization


• Work across functions within tech and architecture to drive engineering excellence


• Improve developer productivity by working on deployment pipelines, packaging tools (npm, docker, helm etc.)


• Ensure reliability by working on dashboards, alerting systems, reliability guidelines and evangelizing best practices


• Facilitate fast resolution to incidents, guide incident management processes

What you bring:

• You navigate and lead a team through ambiguous situations and align strategy with company priorities


• You are an excellent communicator who builds collaborative relationships with technical and non-technical partners


• You are a person who likes to move fast, pragmatically seeking problems with a can-do attitude


• You have a passion for challenges in designing, analysing and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems


• You have a proven track record in cloud environments - ideally Google Cloud Platform and Amazon Web Services


• You are deeply familiar with cloud-native tooling and carry at least 4 years of experience in Kubernetes, Terraform and it’s ecosystem (helm, operators, ingress controllers) and have an understanding of some of the deeper concepts such as service mesh, API gateways etc.
